The progress, if it can be called that, is excruciatingly slow. We're down to electrical work for the most part, but he's too busy to come to our house! ARG!
Our contractor did get the oven cabinet ready for the oven and microwave yesterday. But the oven won't go in until Saturday. That is if the electrician does come out.
We had planned to use him for our basement, but now we're reconsidering.

Day 72--The big let down
The plumber was out today and hooked up the sink, the drains and the dishwasher. But after Charlie and I left the house, he discovered that the cold/hot pipes are reversed, so cold water is going to the dishwasher.
He had to leave and couldn't get back into the house, so now we have a sink with reversed water. That's not so bad on the sink, but that means we can't use the dishwasher. Arg!
HOWEVER I had plans to use the dishwasher this weekend and I did! Ok, it was only as a dish drainer to dry the dishes I washed by hand, but I did use it!

Day 71--Faucet goes in
All right, Mr. DeMille, I'm ready for my close-up...
I tried to take a picture so you can see the texture and this was the best I could do.

Day 67--Finally!!! Progress

The display cabinets also have their doors now. My mom just sent her beautiful Mexican hand-blown water pitcher so I can display it in there.
By the way, all the post-its on the cabinets are so we could remember just where all the different sized handles go and to make it easier on the contractor.

Day 54
The last cabinet was finished off just before our contractor is going on vacation. We're happy to have the space between where the oven and fridge will go to be a little bigger.
And now we wait for the granite...
